APREA’s 2019 Awards for Excellence

We are pleased to announce the first edition of APREA 2019 Awards For Excellence. Ensuing the APREA ASIA PACIFIC PROPERTY LEADERS’ SUMMIT 2019, the awards aim to recognize excellence in the industry. 

To be held on the 4 September at Jing An Shangri-La, Shanghai, this awards ceremony will applaud the winning individuals and companies in the industry.

 

Award Categories

The award categories for this year are:

A.    Leader of the Year

B.    Rising Star: Male and Female

C.    Innovative Company of the Year

D.    Equality and Diversity champion

E.    Positive Impact champion

F.    Employer of the year 

Making A Submission & Criteria

  1. Identify the award categories that you would like to enter. 
  2. All categories are open for organisations having any form of real estate practice or associated with real estate.
  3. The majority of demonstrable results, major new activities or initiative(s) should have occurred within the calendar year January 2018 – December 2018 but may have begun earlier.
  4. Collate necessary information as per the award criteria. 
  5. Review terms & conditions of entry as listed in this document and ensure that all requirements are understood and adhered to. 
  6. All submissions must be made online via the submission form on this website.
  7. APREA does not charge entry fees to enter the awards. Entrants are responsible for any other costs associated with attending the APREA Asia Pacific Property Leaders’ Summit leading to APREA Awards for Excellence 2019.
  8. APREA reserves the right to change or update any aspect of the award categories and criteria.
  9. All versions should be in English.

Leader of the Year

This award recognises excellence in the industry. 

1. Significant achievements 

Give examples of outstanding achievements in the year January 2018 – December 2018 period and explain why you believe these are significant. The examples should focus on means for achieving success, not volume or value. 

2. Business Challenges & Risk Management 

Give examples of challenges or risks that you have encountered during the award period and explain how you have overcome them. Include details of a difficult industry/economic spells and explain what resources you drew on to overcome the difficulties. 

3. Innovation 

Describe any new ideas and innovative or breakthrough practices that you have implemented in your business and its contribution to your success. These may include investor expectations, customer service enhancements, cost savings, ESG compliances, client/investor feedback or any other value add to the real estate profession. Describe if this has contributed to your positioning and differentiation in the marketplace. 

4. Commitment to quality client service 

Give examples of how you have displayed exemplary service to clients in the award period and explain why you believe these are significant. Provide an example of how you have achieved a point of difference in the delivery of excellent service to clients. 

5. Support to staff

Describe how you have encouraged your staff during the period and how your contribution made a difference. 

6. Personal milestones and career goals 

Describe your career goals and the strategies to achieve your goals. What strategies do you have in place to further develop your knowledge and skills. 

7. Leadership and contribution to the industry 

How have you demonstrated leadership in the award period. Explain how you have contributed to the industry and why you think these contributions will improve your standing within the real estate industry. 

Rising Star Male and Female

This award recognises young leaders in the industry. 

Candidates for this award are individual young leaders who have accomplished remarkable achievements that advance the nation’s economy or social standing in the eyes of the world.  The young leaders should not be older than 40 years old during the year January 2018 – December 2018.

1. Business Achievement

The rising star(s) must have managed specific situations or projects where they led the team to achieve growth or recognition. The achievements may cover various aspects of the business, such as operations, construction, technology, sales and marketing, business development, human resources, legal, information technology, finance, corporate communications and other business support activities.

2. Company Contribution

The rising star(s) achievements should have contributed significantly to his or her organization’s overall growth. Any impact from the candidate’s contribution to operations, finance, sales and marketing, product or service development etc., that results in the growth of the organization should be clearly demonstrated. The significance of the candidate’s contribution should be validated through testimonials from the candidate’s superiors, peers, colleagues, and subordinates.

3. Pioneering Achievements

The rising star(s) should have developed or introduced products, services, techniques or processes that are considered unique or innovative in his or her field of expertise. These should have been executed or implemented by the rising star(s)’ company.

4. Awards and Recognition

Commendations for the rising star’(s) contributions to their organization will be considered.

Innovative Company of the Year

This award recognises innovative companies in the industry. 

1. Innovation

Describe the essential elements of the innovation made in your business and its contribution to the success of your business in the award period January 2018 – December 2018. This may include customer service enhancements, cost savings, customer/investor satisfaction, social impact or any other value add to your profession.

2. Cost

Discuss the budget implications of the innovation made in your business and how this has been managed. 

3. Outcomes of Innovation

Describe the innovation in your technology, product, service or sector. Specify the positive commercial outcomes innovation/disruption has had on your business.

4.  Benefit to industry
Describe any potential benefits of the innovations you have introduced to the wider real estate industry and/or social impact.

5.  Benefit to consumers

Describe how your current and potential clients or staff will benefit from the innovations you have introduced and/or social impact.

6.  Give an example of the most significant impact of the innovation 

Equality and Diversity champion

This award recognises organisations that have practices to include diversity and equality. They offer opportunities for employees with different backgrounds and abilities, to move forward and make use of opportunities which may not have been offered.

This award recognises companies who invest in their human power and prioritise their teams for positive impact on the company’s growth.
