We are proud to present Chyi Lin Lee as the speaker for the APREA Research Leaders’ Forum held at the upcoming APREA Asia Pacific Property Leaders’ Summit 2019 in Shanghai, China. Participants will also receive a special rate to attend the conference.
Chyi Lin Lee is an Associate Professor of Property at the University of New South Wales. His research on Real Estate Investment Trusts has been presented at a variety of international conferences and been published widely in journals such as the Journal of Real Estate Finance & Economics, Accounting and Finance, Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management. He has successfully completed several externally funded research projects from Australian (e.g. AHURI) and international organisations (e.g. European Public Real Estate Association, INREV). He has also received several research and education awards such as the Australian Property Institute Award for Excellence for Early Stage Academic.
Chyi Lin Lee will be presenting “The value-added role of Asian REITs in a mixed-asset portfolio” and this study examines the value-added role of Asian REITs in a mixed-asset portfolio. Their empirical results suggest that Asian REITs play a value-added and strategic role in a mixed-asset portfolio, with superior risk-adjusted returns, enhanced portfolio diversification benefits and increased portfolio returns. This indicates that institutional investors should consider Asian REITs in their portfolios.
This year’s research roundtable will convene the research leaders from APREA’s members across Asia Pacific to explore and share thought leadership in the investment landscape, such as the growing REIT market, ESG and new asset classes – and provoke conversations that matter.
Additionally, the group will identify a key topic that can be developed into a white paper and presented during the 15th year anniversary of APREA in 2020. Other topics of interest can be featured in APREA’s quarterly newsletter, Knowledge Brief.
